Inspired by Rothko, one of my creative heros ! I love playing with layers and creating an etherial atmosphere with this series – there are 5 paintings in total but they are notoriously difficult to photograph because of the subtlety of the colour – Nebula III is here to give you a sense of what this is all about.
I sold ‘Nebula I’ to a gallery owner for his private collection. He experienced quite an emotional response to the painting at the time of buying it. He later shared with me that the last time a painting had triggered such a response, was when he was stood in front of a Rothko!! wow…
